INTERNATIONAL bloodstock agent Justin Casse was among those present for the Irish EBF Barrier Trials, organised by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing, at Naas last Monday.

A total of 10 trials took place, four over six furlongs for two-year-olds, three over seven furlongs for two-year-olds, and three over seven furlongs for three-year-olds.

Jeremy Greene of ITM said: “The day passed off well. We had 78 horses take part from 22 different stables. The conditions at Naas were perfect and we thank the management there for hosting the event again. We are also grateful to the trainers and jockeys involved, plus the owners who sent us horses. Special thanks to the IHRB, IRIS, stalls handlers, plus the medical and veterinary support staff, without whom we could not run the barrier trials.

“No doubt plenty of winners will emerge from the occasion and we hope sales will result also. We have similar dates planned for Dundalk on July 8th and Leopardstown on August 28th under the same terms. They will be advertised on the RAS webpage some three weeks in advance.”
