A WEEK after Willie Mullins had a winner in Nashville, students from the University of Tennessee were in Ireland this week, seeing how it’s done.

The students were visiting Ireland as part of their equine industries course. Their trip allowed them to compare the equine industry in Ireland with that of the United States and provided the students with an understanding of international differences and similarities as they prepare to enter the workforce.

The students had a busy week, visiting a number of stud farms, industry stakeholders and universities, along with a day’s racing at Wexford.

They also called into the offices of the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association, visited Balmoral Show, Kildangan Stud, UCD Veterinary School, the Irish Equine Centre, Irish National Stud, and Connolly’s Red Mills, Coolmore and Ballylinch.
