BRITISH point-to-pointing received a real boost at Aintree last Friday when the Lucinda Russell-trained Ahoy Senor won the Grade 1 Doom Bar Sefton Novices’ Hurdle over an extended three miles.

Sent off at 66/1 in the hands of in-form Co Sligo-born jockey Derek Fox, who landed the 2017 Grand National for the same yard on One For Arthur, the six-year-old won by seven lengths from the 13/8 favourite, Bravemansgame, with Oscar Elite a further eight lengths back in third.
