THE point-to-point community was rocked by the news this week that amateur rider Jerome Power from Dungarvan, Co Waterford, died on Monday. He was 24.

In 2020 he rode his first winner which came at his local point-to-point in the colours of his father, Edmund. He also rode many winners on the pony racing circuit.

He is survived by his parents Edmund and Eunice, and brothers Micheál and Kieran, who is also an amateur jockey.
