LAST year's Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes winner Babouche makes her seasonal debut at Cork on Tuesday evening.

Her trainer Ger Lyons has opted to run the Juddmonte-owned filly in the Goffs Irish EBF Polonia Stakes over five and a half furlongs and the listed race has attracted a very strong field.

Babouche, a daughter of Kodiac, was last seen finishing fourth in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket, where the soft ground was thought not to suit her.

She carries a 5lb penalty in the Polonia Stakes, as does the Aidan O'Brien-trained Truly Enchanting, who has been off the track since she won the Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes at the Curragh last June.

Ger Lyons has a second runner, Revoke, also owned by Juddmonte. This filly by Blue Point was beaten by a neck in a listed race at Dundalk last October and the winner, Lady With The Lamp, has since won listed races at Cork and Chelmsford City.

William Haggas sends over First Instinct, who placed third in a listed race at Bath on her most recent start.

The 14-runner field also features the once-raced Fregada, who is well-regarded by her trainer Johnny Feane. Another by Kodiac, she won a Curragh maiden on her debut last September.

The Polonia Stakes is due off at 6.08pm. The card also includes the Cork Derby, a premier handicap over 12 furlongs, at 6.38pm.
