THE final field for the rescheduled Grade 1 Ballymore Novice Hurdle at Naas on Friday has grown by one and now totals 10 runners.
Recent Leopardstown winner Frankie John is the additional entry, his rider-trainer Denis Hogan having added him to the field on Monday following the cancellation of last Sunday's card due to frost.
Friday's card remains in some doubt. Clerk of the course Brendan Sheridan reported on Wednesday morning: "Things have improved, but parts of the track are still unraceable. Where raceable the ground on the chase course is yielding to soft, and the hurdles course is yielding, yielding to soft in places.
"The forecast is for temperatures (to reach) 3C-4C through today and tomorrow, staying above freezing tonight, with the possibility of five to eight millimetres of rain between now and racing.
"There is the chance that it might get down to -1C tomorrow night."
