RACEHORSE owner Michael (Mike) Moloney passed away last weekend after an illness.
From Bodyke in Clare, he owned Macgiloney which won 12 races for trainer Denis Hogan. His black and yellow racing silks are based on the Bodyke GAA jersey.
His first experience of racehorse ownership was with Aidan O’Brien in his early days as a trainer. His first winner came in 2010 with Missgiloney and he had great luck with Macgiloney who was sourced by Denis Hogan for just €14,500 as a store.
