THERE were a handful of interesting performances over jumps at an ordinary level in the period under review, starting with Pentland Hills’ debut win over hurdles at Plumpton on the Monday.
The overall time was nothing special (slower than 137-rated Brandon Castle, who carried a lot more weight), but Pentland Hills’ closing sectionals were good and point to a figure of around 125. At least 20 higher than that is likely to be needed to win the Triumph Hurdle, however.
