THE fallout from last Sunday’s racing in Ireland has led to no small amount of acrimony over the last few days with the action that took place on the track relegated to a mere aside as other issues came to the fore.

A rather significant degree of dissatisfaction with races clashing on Racing TV reached its nadir on Sunday. The unscheduled late off time of the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase meant that the last Irish Grade 1 before Christmas found itself being broadcast on a split screen with Huntingdon’s Peterborough Chase, with no commentary available for the early stages of the Punchestown race.
