LAST week’s coverage of the ITBA’s awards in The Irish Field presented an opportunity to appreciate the stunning work of Achill Island-based sculptor Ronan Halpin, who was commissioned by ITBA’s Kerry Ryan to make the awards.
“Yes, Kerry had seen some of my horse sculptures, I’m not sure if it was online or in a gallery, and she liked the look of them and asked me to make a submission,” said Ronan on the phone from the wild and windswept island. “That was three years ago and I have been doing the awards for those years.
