Racing career highlights: Native River was as a top-class chaser who won the Hennessy Gold Cup and Welsh Grand National in the 2016-’17 season before finishing third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The following season he won the Gold Cup and he amassed over £1 million during his racing career.

Second career: He retired from racing in December 2021 and he has embarked on a successful career in showing in the UK. This year, after much discussion with his owner Tom Malone, Emily McMahon took up the ride on him in Ireland and won the final of the Tattersalls Ireland Treo Eile Showing Pathway Series at Iverk Show. The combination also finished fifth at the Dublin Horse Show.
