RUBY Walsh went back to school this week to launch the 2025 Laytown Races Colouring Competition.

The former champion jockey called into Laytown’s Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh and spoke to the youngsters about his different roles in racing, from riding to broadcasting to being chairman of Irish Injured Jockeys.

The colouring competition is only open to local children and the picture they will be colouring in has again been created by acclaimed racing caricaturist Darren Birdie.

There will be 19 prizes awarded and the winning pictures will be on display at Laytown Races on Thursday, September 4th. Put that date in your diary - see you on the strand.
