CONGRATULATIONS to Margaret O’Connor who retired from The Irish Field this week after 44 years of service.

From Cahir in Co Tipperary, Mags held an office manager role for most of that time, reporting to editors Valentine Lamb and Leo Powell for 20 years each. Two life sentences!

Her responsibilities have included updating racing and sales data, compiling The Irish Field Directory every year, and making sure all of our writers are paid each month! On top of that, Mags was the cheerful and helpful person you spoke to when you telephoned The Irish Field.

She was so good at that job that, a few years ago, Mags was promoted to Customer Services Manager for The Agricultural Trust, owner of The Irish Field, Irish Farmers Journal, Irish Country Magazine and The Irish Garden.

Mags is far too young and energetic to be retiring but she has more than earned it and we know that all of our readers, contributors and clients will join us in wishing her a happy and healthy retirement. Thank you, Mags!
