A GREAT turnout of 27 teams took part in the Pat Smullen Golf Classic in aid of the Drogheda Memorial Fund at Killeen Castle Golf Club.

Staged as usual on the day after the Irish Derby, the event was blessed with good sponsors and fine weather.

Coming out on top for the second year in a row was the team representing the Qualified Riders Association. Team members Finn Buckley and Finian Maguire did the amateur ranks proud, but aren’t Ben and Alex Harvey both professionals?

The Jockeys Association team finished second, just ahead of the Curragh Racecourse foursome.

Paddy Smullen played on the day and Frances Crowley made the presentations.

The 2027 event is already confirmed for Monday, June 28th, a non-raceday.

Tracy’s big swim
