Second career: Tekka Whelan bought Fortunate Max when he was a four-year old and together they have become a formidable partnership. They are dual winners of the Thoroughbred Discovery Class at the Treo Eile Christmas Show in 2024 and 2025, as well as placing second in the Thoroughbred Performance Class at the Tattersalls July Show. Tekka has achieved her Irish Pony Club B Test on Fortunate Max and competes regularly in pony club activities.
