HORSEWARE Lukeswell, who was bred in Co Kilkenny by Teresa Walsh out of the Kings Servant mare Gentle Servant, and Horseware Bushman are both by Puissance who heads the Top 10 list of sires on 543 points. The Irish Sport Horse stallion is followed by the deceased thoroughbred Master Imp (401) and Kedrah House Stud’s Ricardo Z (362).

Now 27 years of age, Puissance covered a small book of mares this year (most of whom are in foal) and is reported as being “healthy as a bee” by Ballyquirke Stud’s Michael Hutchinson who not only stands the son of Imperius (sire also of Master Imp) but rode him throughout his jumping career.
