IT emerged in The Sunday Times last weekend that the then Minister for Defence, Paul Kehoe TD, initially choose the somewhat contentious name ‘Corronagh’ for the Army mount now known as Lough Ramor, just as the coronavirus pandemic took off in Ireland.

The then Minister was presented with three suitable names to choose for the Army Equitation School’s new talented mount, in keeping with tradition where the Minister for Defence gets the honour of naming the horse from a suggested list of suitable available names presented.
