THE 2011 Royal Ascot winner Namibian has qualified for the 2017 Para Dresage Winter Championships in Britain. Formerly owned by the Maktoum family and trained first by Mark Johnston and later John Ferguson, the thoroughbred is now ridden by Julie Frizzell.

She was a wing commander with the Royal Air Force before retiring in 2008 after a fall from a horse on an army course. That accident left her without an ulna in her right forearm and she wears a special cast to keep her hand in place. She acquired Namibian through the Godolphin rehoming programme.
