PROFESSIONAL punter Andy Gibson has published the latest edition of 50 Eyecatchers, his 136-page paperback dedicated to finding winners this jumps season.

From Alexei to Zurich, Andy goes into great detail for each of his selections, leaving the reader in no doubt about the amount of thought and research which the author has put into his picks.

An unusual aspect to this ‘horses to follow’ book is that Andy actually includes a few horses to avoid. As he says himself: “There is usually more upside to noting an interesting performance when you believe the majority are more likely to have missed it. Spotting winning and losing efforts that may be underestimated or overestimated in the future can be key.

“Eyecatchers can come in all shapes and sizes and those that have performed in an apparently poor way are as interesting as any; especially when you believe you can understand why they may have disappointed. Equally, I like to consider a few superstars when my analysis suggests that they might not be quite as good and/or reliable as the hype suggests.”

There are also contributions from 18 racing personalities, including Sean Bowen, Noel Fehily, Nicky Richards, Philip Hobbs and our own Tony Keenan.

Priced at £15, 50 Eyecatchers can be purchased through Andy’s website, which is updated throughout the season.
