AIDAN O’Brien will bid to win the Group 2 Juddmonte Beresford Stakes for a remarkable 17th time on Sunday when saddling three of the five runners in the feature race at Naas.

Ryan Moore will be in action when he partners O’Brien’s Curragh maiden winner Saxon Warrior in the €120,000 contest with Delano Roosevelt and Kew Gardens also lining up to face the Michael Halford-trained Riyazan and Brendan Duke’s stable star, Warm The Voice.

O’Brien said; “Saxon Warrior won nicely at the Curragh last month and Donnacha was very happy with him that day. The Beresford Stakes always looked a natural race for him although he hasn't run on this type of ground so we’ll find out more about him on Sunday. He hasn’t done a lot since the Curragh but he seems in good form.

“Kew Gardens and Delano Roosevelt ran well at Leopardstown. Both of them were probably a bit green early in the race but came home well. Delano Roosevelt hasn’t run on the ground either but Kew Gardens has. We think they’re in good form.”

Riyazan’s trainer, Michael Halford said; “Riyazan worked well during the week and he’ll take his chance in the Beresford Stakes.

“He ran well in what looked a good race on Champions Weekend at Leopardstown and Pat Smullen sat on him on Wednesday and he was very pleased with him.”

The first of four Group races at Naas on Sunday is the C.L & M.F Weld Park Stakes which has attracted a field of nine runners.

Ten years after the last British-trained winner of the race Charlie Hills sends over Juliet Foxtrot, while Karl Burke will be represented by Ellthea in a race that also features the highly rated Ballydoyle pair of Ballet Shoes and Sizzling. Dermot Weld will bid to win the race, named in honour of his parents, for the second successive year when saddling Fille Du Septembre.

The Willie Mullins-trained Renneti heads the field for the Group 3 Loughbrown Stakes, while a field of 11 will go to post for the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes headed by last year’s Commonwealth Cup winner Quiet Reflection.

This years Loughbrown Stakes looks set to be a fascinating renewal with Joe Murphy’s stable star Only Mine looking for a third course and distance success, while last year’s Derrinstown Flying Five winner Ardhoomey is also among the declarations for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane. Gordon Lord Byron seeks a 17th career win and Ryan Moore has opted for Alphabet out of the Ballydoyle trio that also includes Cougar Mountain and Peace Envoy.

Racing at Naas on Sunday will begin at 2pm with an intriguing maiden as Aidan O’Brien is set to debut James Cook, a full brother to the high class Found, and Cypress Creek who is a full brother to last weekend’s English St Leger winner, Capri.
