DO you know someone who deserves to be recognised for their services to racing? Or is there a racecourse which is making a real effort to support racehorse owners that merits an award?

The Association of Irish Racehorse Owners (AIRO) is seeking nominees for these categories ahead of its annual awards night.

Staged in association with The Irish Field for the first time, the AIRO Awards will be presented at a black-tie dinner in the Killashee House Hotel, Naas, Co Kildare, on Saturday evening, October 21st. This year’s awards promises to be a higher profile event than in previous years and a special guest speaker will be announced shortly.

AIRO chairman Brian Polly said: “I would like to welcome our new partners, The Irish Field, to the awards evening. This year’s event promises to be even more prestigious than in previous years.

“For the first time we are inviting The Irish Field readers to nominate someone they consider worthy of an AIRO award.” He added that all are welcome to apply for tickets for the awards evening which will be attended by some well-known racing personalities.

Nominations for the Racecourse Merit and Services to Racing awards should be sent to info@irishracehorseowners.com or call Aiden Burns on (045) 878173. All are welcome to submit nominations.

A limited number of tickets for the event are also available from the AIRO.
