Disko could make his long-awaited reappearance in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown on December 28th. The action is sure to be top class over the Christmas Festival at the Foxrock venue and the addition of Disko is sure to add to the stellar line-up Toals sportsbook overview.

The Noel Meade-trained grey has not run for over 12 months and fractured his skull and wither in a stable accident earlier this year.

But the Gigginstown House Stud-owned seven-year-old joined stablemate Road To Respect in a racecourse workout on Sunday, with both horses pleasing their trainer and in contention for the Grade 1 feature at the Dublin track.

Meade said: “Disko and Road To Respect both worked after racing at Navan. Sean (Flanagan) was on Road To Respect and Jonny (Moore) rode Disko. They just jumped a couple of fences and all went well.

“Disko has been working well at home and is coming along nicely. Nothing has been decided for him yet and I’ll have to talk to Eddie and Michael (O’Leary), but he could run at Leopardstown along with Road To Respect.”

Disko was last seen winning the Grade 2 MyCarNeedsA.com Chase at Down Royal in November last year, having taken Grade 1 honours in the Growise Champion Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival and finishing third to Yorkhill at Cheltenham.

Prior to winning at Down Royal, Disko had a successful 2017 winning at Punchestown in April and Leopardstown in February. Having had success at Leopardstown previously, Meade will be confident Disko can perform well once more.

Meade’s charge also struck at the top level in the Flogas Chase at Leopardstown.

Road To Respect, meanwhile, landed the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal last month, the third Grade 1 success of his career.

Road To Respect will have 55 days between races when he takes to the track at Leopardstown.

November's win at Down Royal was Road To Respect's first win of 2018 having finished third and fourth, respectively, in his prior races this year. Jockey Sean Flanagan rode Road to Respect last year win and is set to take up the mount for this year's renewal.

The Leopardstown Christmas Festival is one of the marquee horseracing events of the holiday period. The races get started on Boxing Day, December 26th, and run until December 29th. Eight Grade 1 races taking place over the course of the four days making it a top betting event.
