HE is the clear favourite for the Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup and he has not raced since last March, nor has he ever run in a chase outside novice company. Presenting Percy was one of 43 entries revealed for the Gold Cup this week. Trained in Co Galway by Pat Kelly, the gelding has won at the last two Cheltenham Festivals but those wins came on the back of relatively busy campaigns. So far this season, the gelding has not raced due to the absence of soft ground.

Connections are now aiming the eight-year-old at the Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park on Thursday, January 24th, a race he won last year on his way to landing the RSA Chase at Cheltenham.
