The proposed new gambling regulator will have the authority to impose fines of up to €50,000
THE Government has confirmed it is to create an independent regulator to oversee all gambling activity. The new authority – which will be given the power to impose fines and issue licences – is unlikely to be in operation in the next 18 months.
