TWO instances of jockeys receiving 10-day bans, occurring from two very different sets of circumstances, have come to light in the last five days.

On Saturday, several jockeys received this punishment for riding past a stop-race yellow flag at the end of the London National at Sandown. The flag flew because it was deemed too dangerous to continue the race due to the presence of the stricken Houblon Des Obeaux, who was receiving treatment after collapsing on the turn into the straight, after sadly suffering a fatal heart attack.
