SEAN and Donnchadh Doyle can be justifiably proud of their achievements in winning four-year-old maidens last weekend in the colours of the Monbeg Syndicate but it was the sport horse arm of the Wexford operation, Tomás Doyle and his wife Marti, who were shouting loudest following the third-place finish at Badminton of Arctic Soul.

The 2003 Luso gelding finished showed little in two runs in bumpers and two over hurdles as a five-year-old when trained by Colm Murphy who thought him slow and quickly pulled the plug on his racing career.
