CORKY (J.T.) Carroll had been thinking of seeing out the autumn campaign but, when his 200th point-to-point winner came up in the colours of his good friend John Nallen at Rockfield last Sunday, the Charleville rider immediately called it a day.

“I’ve been riding out and schooling for John for the past six years or thereabouts so when Minella For Me won on his debut, I decided it was a good time for me to bow out,” said Carroll who made all on the five-year-old King’s Theatre gelding, a first training success with his first runner for former champion flat jockey Joseph O’Brien.
