Raising questions

MADAM,

I WOULD like to ask if the members of the Ulster Region are aware of what has been happening over the Christmas and New Year break. The Ulster Region Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Wednesday, 14th December 2022, in Dungannon Rugby Club to a full audience. The 2023 Committee was elected on the night. All 20 positions were filled from 25 nominations.

On Tuesday (10.01.2023) a meeting of the Showjumping Ireland Board of Directors took place and allowed the two former representatives, who were not elected to the Ulster Region committee but have been reinstated for 2023 as Directors.

As a concerned member of the Ulster Region, I would like to know how two members of the region were elected to the Show Jumping Ireland Board of Directors after failing to be elected to the 2023 Ulster Region Committee. They failed to be re-elected in the Ulster Region and represent no one.

I therefore ask the questions:

1. Who do these two think they are representing?

2. Could someone please explain the ‘Back Door’ method used by these two individuals to get onto the SJI National Board of Directors?
