Irish show jumping team named for Nations Cup in Poland
on 19 June 2021
Michael Blake has named Daniel Coyle, Alexander Butler, Eoin McMahon and Paul O'Shea for the Longines FEI Nations Cup at Sopot, Poland this weekend

THE Irish show jumping team has been named for tomorrow’s (Sunday) Longines FEI Nations Cup at Sopot in Poland, which is the second of Ireland’s allocated fixtures in Europe’s top division. Ireland finished fifth in their opening fixture at La Baule in France and team manager Michael Blake has named an entirely new quartet for the competition in Sopot.

Ireland have been drawn fourth of 10 teams to jump and line out as follows:

Derry’s Daniel Coyle with Legacy – owned by Ariel Grange & Daniel Coyle

Meath’s Alexander Butler with Athene – owned by Ger Poels & Alexander Butler

Clare’s Eoin McMahon with Chakra 9 – owned by Madeleine Winter-Schulze

Limerick’s Paul O’Shea with Skara Glen’s Machu Picchu – owned by Frank Cunniffe and Machu Picchu Partners

Tribute to Tiggy Hancock

As a mark of respect to Irish equestrian athlete Tiggy Hancock, who tragically passed away on Wednesday following an accident, the Irish team will wear arm bands in Tiggy’s favourite colour yellow during the competition.

The Longines FEI Nations Cup of Poland starts at 10am Sunday morning Irish time and is live on FEITV.
