WARREN Greatrex will resist the urge to send Cheltenham Festival winner Missed Approach to Fairyhouse for the BoyleSports Irish Grand National on Easter Monday.

The Lambourn handler is instead leaning towards the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown on April 28th as the next port of call for his talented eight-year-old.

The Grade 3 contest is one of two races, alongside the Coral Scottish Grand National at Ayr, under consideration for Missed Approach, who provided the Lambourn handler with his second Festival success with victory in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup. Bo Greatrex said: "He has come out of the race well. There is not a nick on him. He is fresh and he seems all good.

"There are two options - either the Scottish National, which he ran in last year, or the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown. I think we might favour the bet365 as that might be more his bag.

"If he goes quiet and I don't think he is right that will be him done for the season but I think he will be all right."
