THE commercial future for the latest batch of stallions added to the Irish Horse Register and the changing Irish Draught type were two of the main talking points at this week’s stallion inspections at Cavan Equestrian Centre.

A total of 34 stallions were presented on Tuesday and Wednesday morning before the usual group of spectators, which consisted mainly of Irish Draught breeders, with the highest success rate (50%) being in the Stage 1 sport horse section.
