I HAD been trying to have a day with the Avondhu for the last couple of seasons so when the opportunity arose to join them on their opening meet at Castletownroche, I jumped at it. Castletownroche is located in some of the best farmland in Ireland and watered by the Awbeg, it is surely one of Cork’s most picturesque villages.
