All the indicators beforehand pointed to a good edition of the flagship store sale and the two-day auction duly delivered an impressive set of gains with the market making significant progress in all key areas. The €32,500 median was a record for the sale, the €43,279 average was the second highest on record and an aggregate of over €14.2 million represented a 29% improvement on 2013.

Over the two days, some 104 lots made €50,000 or more as opposed to 69 in 2013 while the number of six-figure transactions improved from 15 to 27 and the sale witnessed a host of notable pinhooking triumphs.
