RACE 1: BANK STREET HANDICAP

#2 Winfull Patrol is a speedy type who has had his problems. He drops down to Class 5 for the first time now and should be able to win once again in due course. #4 Winning Controller also makes his Class 5 debut. He showed glimpses of ability last season and with the summer underneath him, he can produce an improved effort down in grade. #7 Haymaker ran home well last time out and is nearing another victory. #8 Rocket Let Win can add some value to the exotics from a better draw.

RACE 2: JACKSON HANDICAP

#6 Cheerfuljet ran a much-improved race first-up, setting the pace before holding on for third. With that run under his belt, he can get into the finish. #1 Great Joy is better over further but he also shapes as a horse heading higher. With Matthew Poon’s claim, he gets in well and fresh, he can show up over this trip. #8 Mr Kool also tends to need further but is worth watching at his first start for Frankie Lor. #5 Beauty Connection has not seen out a strong 1200m but looks in need of the added trip this time in.

RACE 3: THE WAYFOONG CENTENARY BOWL

#1 Grand Harbour enters with no notable form of late but drops back down to Class 4 and gets Matthew Poon aboard. He’ll likely be somewhere near the front and he’s always hard to run down under those condtions. #2 Istanbul Bey gets the drop in grade for the first time. He has found Class 3 a little tough but should be able to pick up a race shortly. #6 Polymer Luck was just fair fresh but should be improved for the effort. #4 Wah May Baby has performed well this preparation and is sure to have his admirers.

RACE 4: DES VOEUX HANDICAP

#3 Fruitful Life improved out of sight at his first run for Frankie Lor, combined with the class drop. If he’s progressed from that first-up effort, there’s no reason he can’t score here. #2 Gold Velvet ran well enough fresh and now gets Joao Moreira aboard. He ranks as a chance yet again second-up. #7 Sweet Bean is hard to catch but has drawn well and should be around the mark. #1 Audacity might need further but he bears close watching.

RACE 5: JACKSON HANDICAP

#2 Leisured Feet won very softly at the end of last season to stamp himself as one to watch. He’s a horse that should improve over further, but with a soft draw, he can win at his Happy Valley debut before he tackles Class 3. #4 I'm A Witness should be improved for two runs this preparation and should be somewhere in the finish. #3 Generous Heart ran some good races at the bottom of Class 3 last season but should be even better in this grade. He hast trialled well, too. #9 Enjoy Life is an improving type.

RACE 6: QUEEN'S ROAD CENTRAL HANDICAP

#6 Master Albert has finally drawn a good gate after three wide barriers from three starts. That should make all the difference and the talented galloper can notch his first Hong Kong win. #10 Charity Glory was heavily backed last start and flew home, just failing to grab Best Step. A win looks near for him. #4 Best Step should take plenty from that first-up effort and he’s a chance again despite barrier 11. #9 All Best Friends is worth including in all exotics.

RACE 7: QUEEN'S ROAD CENTRAL HANDICAP

#10 Smart Boy only won narrowly last time out but getting up in grade with a light weight, he can go back-to-back, especially from the good draw. #2 Wonderful Journey may still need to shed a few points in the ratings but he was a three-time course and distance winner last term and Matthew Poon’s claim does help. #9 Radiant Treasure is improving slowly and can get into the placings. #1 Fantastic Feeling has been honest of late and is worth including.

RACE 8: SUTHERLAND HANDICAP

#1 Gonna Run was blocked for a run on the dirt last time out but still found the line solidly. He’s going to be winning a Class 3 event very soon. #9 Super Form was beaten by big margins in this grade while he was still acclimatising. Now, he is two from three over this course and distance and looms as a threat. #7 Who Dat Singa can bob up at his Valley debut. Outlawed and Kiram could easily go in for fourth, but perhaps it is worth including #5 Photon Willie in all exotics back to Happy Valley.

Racing from Happy Valley will be shown love on At The Races and Racing UK. It starts at 12.15pm GMT and full betting is available on thetote.com
