BEING nominated for the recent Godolphin Irish Stud and Stable Staff Awards was a huge honour for me, particularly as someone who doesn’t come from a strong racing background. My boss, Sarah Lynam, put me forward for the Newcomer Award, where I managed to reach the final shortlist of three. Although I didn’t win the overall prize, it was a fantastic experience that will remain with me for a long time.

I had been drawn to horses from as early as I can remember. I would notice them in paddocks when I was driving along with my mom, even at the age of four or five. My aunt had done a bit of riding when she was younger, so I mentioned it to her and she encouraged me. My mom (Suzanne) agreed to sign me up for lessons and I was hooked from the very first day.
