CHELTENHAM Grade 1-winning rider Bryony Frost was taken to hospital for checks on a shoulder injury following a fall at Southwell.

Frost, who hit the headlines with victory on Frodon in the Ryanair Chase just last Thursday, took a tumble at the 10th fence from Caroline Fryer’s Midnight Bliss in the Toalsbet Handicap Chase over three miles on Monday.

Her father Jimmy, who was saddling runners for his Devon stable at Exeter, said: “I only know she’s taken a fall and they are checking her out.

“She told me she was sore, and they were taking her for an X-ray on her shoulder. Hopefully everything will be OK.”
