SHOWING a liking for the venue, Zara Nelson and OLS Pixie Hollow racked up back-to-back wins in the EI 110 J. It was not plain sailing for the Co Kildare duo however who, opening in second spot, had slipped to third out of the four runners after show jumping. Despite their one error, luck was on their side, and when dressage leaders Michelle O’Driscoll (Binrado) clocked up hefty penalties in the show jumping, and second-placed Cian McHugh (Cooley Blue Flame) incurred a stop in the country, they moved back up the order.

The Co Waterford pair of Ruth Burke and Atlantic Dreamer have had mixed fortunes this season, so it was good to see them bounce confidently back to form to win the EI 110 P division from the front. Posting an opening mark of 33.0, they progressed to deliver one of only two double clear rounds, to head Aine Duggan (Manniard Diarmaid) as well as the recently selected pony team members Susan Shanahan with Fernhill Pick and Mix. Fellow squad traveller Brian Kuenhle (Tullibards Sixth Sense) also ran, but having clocked up eight penalties in the show jumping and time faults in the country slipped from an opening second, to fifth of the five runners.
