IT didn’t take Brian Morrison long to gel with Con Kennedy’s Westeria Lane and, on their second competitive start, the combination landed the Connolly’s Red Mills CNC3* title at last weekend’s Eventing Ireland national championships at Kilguilkey House.

Aidan Keogh, who claimed this crown last year on Master Tredstep, partnered Pride of Tredstep on this occasion and they were the only pairing of the eight starters to beat the 30 penalty barrier on Saturday morning. They were awarded a combined score of 27.1 by New Zealand’s Andrew Bennie and Co Antrim’s Vanda Stewart.
