THE Dublin Horse Show and Tattersalls International Horse Trials are among 40 events nationwide to benefit from the €2.96 million in funding made available by Fáilte Ireland today, which is aimed at helping enhance and promote festivals and events across the country.

The five-star Dublin Horse Show at the RDS is the fourth biggest beneficiary, receiving a significant boost of €95,000, while Tattersalls International Horse Trails, which takes place in Co Meath on the June bank holiday weekend, will get €10,000.

Making the announcement, Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin TD, said: “With many challenges on the horizon for tourism, today’s announcement is a welcome start to 2019. Not only do festivals and events play an important role in delivering brilliant visitor experiences, they often encourage people to visit areas outside of traditional tourism hotspots and outside of peak times, helping to spread the benefits of tourism to communities throughout Ireland.”
