THERE were a few farriers among the list of exhibitors and visitors at last week’s Dublin Horse Show but only Millstreet’s Nicholas Pomeroy had the pleasure of seeing Michael Ryan partner his Claragh Olala to victory in the five-year-old young event horse championship.

“There were a couple of people enquiring after him but I just want to enjoy the win as I wasn’t expecting it at all!” said Pomeroy whose Claragh Mountain (also ridden by Ryan) is among the entries for the CCIYH2*-S for six-year-olds at Millstreet next week. “I bought Olala as a three-year-old at Monart and sent him to Wayne Santry to be broken,” he added.
