WE haven’t had a Victoria Cup in a while, not since Cape Byron hit the front at the furlong pole two years ago and hung on well to get home by a neck and a head from Kynren and Kaeso, with Raising Sand finishing off his race well down the stands rail to take fourth place.

Kynren ran at Chester yesterday instead of having another go at today’s tote+ Victoria Cup at Ascot, racing off the same handicap rating as the mark off which he raced two years ago, but Raising Sand is back for more today, just 1lb higher than he was in 2019.
