THE chief executive of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board has issued a plea to anyone with information on the improper use of drugs in racing to contact the IHRB in confidence.

Denis Egan issued the call yesterday at the end of a week which saw Jim Bolger repeat his view that he did not have confidence in the IHRB’s effectiveness in finding and rooting out drug use in Irish racing. Controversially, the trainer said he knew the identity of the drug cheats but he could not name them for legal reasons.
