THE final leg of the Pegus Horse Feeds mini one-day event league at Killossery Lodge Stud took place last Thursday with professional riders from Northern Ireland joining some of their Wexford counterparts in bringing out young horses.

However, it was locally-based Orla Cassidy who secured the novice league honours with Maureen Dwyer’s good dressage horse Merrywell Cavalier. The six-year-old Cavalier Two For Joy gelding, who was bred by Kevin Geraghty out of an Ard Grandpa mare, completed on his flatwork score of 28 penalties to win Thursday’s class.
