A massive overseas entry for their fifth international had stretched the logistics to the limits, but in the end, Paul Brady’s crew pulled off a hugely successful event and gained plaudits from all.

A brace of Irish wins, together with beautiful weather undoubtedly played no small part in this success, and as always, Camphire’s idyllic riverside venue is hard to surpass. Much to the credit of the organisers, the event is well publicised on the run-up, and as a result, it was good to see the general public streaming through the gates over the weekend. This gate tally was up by a third this year, with many spectators staying on to enjoy both the sport and the atmosphere until dusk.
