THERE was a major gamble on Mark Johnston’s Dee Ex Bee, all the way down to 6/5 after his impressive Goodwood success. However, it was another son of Farhh, Tim Easterby’s Wells Farhh Go, who got up in the final stride to deny James Garfield, both starting at 10/1.

Chief Justice jinked left on exiting the stalls and Paul Hanagan had little chance of staying on board. Dee Ex Bee led briefly but soon failed to go the pace and it was Danzan who took them along.
