LIBRISA Breeze, who found only Portage too good in the Royal Hunt Cup, landed a thumping gamble in the furlong-shorter Gigaset International Stakes at Ascot.

Backed down to 4/1 favourite, an almost frighteningly short price in a 24-runner handicap, the Mount Nelson four-year-old was held up by Robert Winston towards the rear of the centre group but moved up easily to lead inside the final furlong. He edged left but pulled clear to beat Squats by a length and a half with the veteran Scottish Glen third, followed by Godolphin’s Flash Fire.
