SCOTLAND has proven a happy hunting-ground for Irish trainers in recent years, and last weekend was one of remarkable success for the raiding party, with three wins at Hamilton last Saturday and another treble at Perth’s National Hunt fixture on Sunday, with the winning horses representing five different trainers.

On Saturday, Johnny Feane, Andrew Hughes and John McConnell struck with Art Of Unity (7/1), Twentysixthstreet (33/1) and Ocean Air (9/4 favourite) respectively, all winning handicaps, and both Gordon Elliott and the in-from Gavin Cromwell were in winning form at the Scone Palace track the following day, the former saddling hot-pot Borice (30/100) to win a novice hurdle, while Cromwell landed a double over fences courtesy of Top Of The Charts (2/1) and Callthebarman (5/1).
