EARLIER on Wednesday, the Ballydoyle team sent out Secret Thoughts, a daughter of Irish Oaks winner Chiquita, for the Cheshire Oaks, but she disappointed, again showing her dam’s quirkiness, but rather less of her talent, and it’s back to the drawing board with her.

That race was won in fine style by John Gosden’s Mehdaayih, who is owned by the Australia-based Nasser Lootah, under the auspices of his Emirates Park organisation. She isn’t entered at Epsom, and Gosden’s son Thady said that a decision on whether to supplement the daughter of Frankel or aim her instead for the Ribblesdale Stakes would be left to her owner.
