YEARLINGS by the likes of Invincible Spirit, Sioux Nation and St Mark’s Basilica feature in a 133-lot catalogue to kick off a busy five days at Arqana. The November Yearling Sale takes place on Wednesday, November 13th, followed by a diverse offering at the Autumn Sale from November 17th to 19th, with National Hunt breeding stock concluding affairs on November 20th. Prices are expected to peak at the Autumn Sale, which was topped last year by Carlos and Yann Lerner’s listed-winning three-year-old Newlook. Australian trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young paid €480,000 for the son of New Bay, while Toby Jones went to €280,000 for group performer Westminster Moon, bought on behalf of John Breslin and Tony Martin.
Last year’s edition failed to match the highs of 2023, but has already produced a Group 1 performer in Jawwal. Bought by Ingrid Janackova Koplikova from Haras de Bouquetot for just €13,000, the Wooded gelding was beaten only half a length in the Prix de l’Abbaye won by Asfoora.
