KILBARRY Lodge Stud has secured proven sire Dschingis Secret from France for covering duties in 2026.
Aged 12, the son of Soldier Hollow was a Group 1 winner - and won four Group 2 races - over a mile and a half during his 20-race career when trained in Germany. He has sired blacktype winners over jumps and on the flat from limited opportunities as he has only covered flat-bred mares in his stud career to-date.
The stallion has had over 30 winners in France this year including three-year-old hurdle race winners at Bordeaux and placed horses at Auteuil. He has only had two horses represent him over jumps in Ireland and both have won, including yesterday’s Gowran Park winner Dschingis Dragon.
Con O’Keeffe of Kilbarry Lodge Stud: “This young horse has great potential, because of his breeding, racing profile and promising start with his runners. I went to see him at Markus Klug’s yard in Rottgen in 2018 when he retired from racing but was unable to buy him. However, recently another opportunity arose which made it possible.”
